Then be sure to get some more news over at the link here.

Want to get some more news regarding The Gifted? The future pilots, coupled with the show’s ratings this season, could be a key determining factor in the future. It’s not just about what’s on the air now instead, it’s also about what’s coming up down the road. Over the next couple of months, we imagine that Fox is going to take a long look at some of its programming and make tough decisions. Why not just have that happen? What lies ahead? We just don’t think that these characters, who are mostly under-the-radar within the comic-book world, are so essential that Disney can’t just do their own thing with some characters and allow this to exist within its own, alternate universe. Take, for example, Disney seemingly wanting to do their own thing with X-Men overall. Now, we know that there are some behind-the-scenes issues that make things pretty complicated. Do they want to alienate this entire fanbase next season? We don’t think that it’s a particularly great move. The best reason to bring The Gifted back is simply this: It’s a great superhero show and with Gotham ending, they don’t have any others. But when the dust settles, how much is that really going to matter? Is there a better road for the show to go down?

We know the show has DVR viewers, and we know that it’s got a devoted audience. We felt at the end of the season 2 finale last week that things weren’t working all that great for The Gifted. Unfortunately, things are not any different now. Add to this now a pair of other important factors here - Disney purchasing Fox and then Fox also cutting two hours of programming in the fall for the WWE. They may even choose The Orville, a pricey show that does at least have a big tax credit going for it in the event it is renewed. The ratings for the second season of the show were not great - its average was lower than any other scripted drama series that premiered this fall, and Fox would more than likely choose The Resident, 9-1-1, Empire, STAR, or Lethal Weapon over it. Before we get to all of the positive reasons to keep The Gifted around, let’s start with getting some of the negative things working against it out of the way.
